Trees

Updated: Jun 2

In the realm of forests, a story unfolds

Of Ancient beings, with stories untold

The life of trees, so vibrant and grand

Yet humans fail to understand

For in their branches, wisdom resides

A testament to resilience, where time abides

Roots delve deep, seeking nourishment below

An intricate dance, that humans often forego

With each passing season, they gracefully transform

Bearing witness to nature’s ever-changing norm

Leaves unfurl, embracing the sun’s warm rays

As they sway in harmony, a tranquil ballet

But humans, in their haste, often fail to see

The beauty that surrounds them, the marvels of a tree

They chop and clear, without a second glance

Unmindful of the consequences, of nature’s delicate balance

Oh, if only we could grasp the wisdom they hold

The interconnectedness, the stories yet untold

For in the shade they offer, a respite we find

A sanctuary of peace, a solace for the mind

Yet, greed and ignorance, they often prevail

As humans encroach, with plans to assail

Forests diminish, their ecosystems disrupted

A tragic tale, where nature’s beauty is ruptured

Let us pause and reflect, on the life of a tree

Its silent wisdom, its gift of harmony

For in their existence, a lesson lies

To respect and cherish, before nature dies

May we learn to coexist, to tread with care

Preserving the beauty, the delicate layers we share

For in the life of trees, a message resounds

To honor and protect, nature’s wonders profound

Often, we overlook the significance of trees, yet they are living entities just like us. Capable of surviving for centuries, they witness our history unfold - enduring countless human conflicts and societal shifts. Despite it all, they remain, embodying grace and resilience, until they fall victim to our saws. Intriguingly, the patterns on our fingertips mirror the rings of a tree's stump. If only life were as straightforward. Born into this world akin to trees, it seems they are entitled to their essential needs more so than we are. Perhaps our understanding is misplaced.
