Trauma-Bonded

Updated: Jun 3, 2024

In shadows deep, we both reside

A bond that no one can divide

Her words like thorns, they pierce my soul

Yet in her grasp, I find control

Through tears and fears, we dance this waltz

A twisted tango, bound by false halts

Her love a poison, sweet and cruel

A tangled web, a suffocating fuel

In whispered secrets, lies the chain

That binds us close through joy and pain

A mother’s love, a captive curse

In broken fragments, we immerse

So here I dwell, with her enmeshed

A haunting melody, a heart compressed

To break the chains, to set me free

Is to rewrite this tainted history

I'll share information and videos that can explain this better. Trauma-bonding is an unhealthy attachment to a person. Being trauma-bonded is common in an abuser/victim situation. A trauma-bond, however, can also be something like you attach to someone who provides you respite, rescue, or takes you away from your situation. There are many different reasons someone can be trauma-bonded to a person. Listen to your body, it will tell you everything you need to know.
