Prickly Guys

In the desert so dry, where the sun shines bright

Lived a cactus named Spike, what a funny sight!

He’d brag to the flowers, “I thrive on blue skies

While you need your water – what weak little guys!”

But one day, a raincloud let out a loud cheer

And Spike started sweating – Oh dear, oh dear!

He danced in the drizzle, with joy loud and clear

“Forget all my bragging! I love this right here!”

Then the flowers all chuckled, as they bloomed with delight

“Dear Spike, don’t get used to this – it’s rare, not your plight!

You’re the king of the dry, and we’ve got your back

But don’t let that water give you a heart attack!”

Remember, friends, when the water comes in

Even cacti need laughs, let the fun times begin!

For sometimes we all need a little refresh

But being a prickly guy? You must always enmesh!

I'm obsessed with Cactuses. When I feel like I want a cigarette, which happens often still, (This was written on 08/25/2024- 535 days without a cigarette!) I buy a cactus instead. I tend to kill plants, but I haven't killed a cactus yet. I have 9 of them so far. :) Much cheaper and healthier than that pack of smokes I almost bought. ;) You could also say that my current, "Fixation" are cactuses.
