In solemn honor, we gather today
To remember the brave, in every way
On Memorial Day, we bow our heads
For those who rest in honored beds
Courageous souls, who stood so tall
Answered the nation’s noble call
They marched with pride, in fields so wide
For freedom’s sake, they fought and died
Their sacrifice, we’ll never forget
In hearts and minds, they linger yet
On this day, we pledge anew
To honor them in all we do
So let us pause, and deeply reflect
On those wo paid a heavy debt
For on Memorial Day, we humbly say
Thank you for our freedom, we’ll cherish it today
Due to these posts being scheduled so far ahead, I often forget special days like today. Today is Memorial Day. Let's take a moment or two to thank those who died for our freedom.
