Finding Myself

Updated: Jun 3

I’ve learned about your heart so kind

Your words flow with warmth and grace

In your presence, there’s peace of mind

A gentle soul, a friendly face

You’re value and understanding

A deep empathy for those around

Your wisdom is so commanding

Your spirit soars, never bound

In your laughter, there’s joy untold

In your tears, there’s strength to see

In your stories, the heart unfolds

In your presence, I am free

So, here’s a tribute to the essence of you

A beautiful soul, pure and true

May your light always shine through

And your kindness always renew

This is one of those “parenting myself” moments. Words I’m not used to hearing that I have to remind myself of. I must remind myself I’m a good person, and what I’m doing is not selfish, manipulative or fabricated. I have been that person, to please her, but I don’t need to be. I am perfect the way I am. I love and respect myself, but I still need to be reminded, as a mother would remind and encourage their young children and teenagers. I am what I needed.
