Expected Smiles

Missed appointments, addresses amiss

Blame finds me, it’s relentless kiss

Double checking, yet still at fault

Emotions rise, like thunder’s assault

The weight of it all, a heavy boulder

Life’s unnecessary stress grows colder

I long for someone to share this load

To walk with me along this road

Apologies given, though not my decree

Expected to bear it, to smile and be free

But inside, the turmoil grows strong

I can’t bear this blame for much too long

This is more of an irritating rant than trauma. It's apparently okay to make patients sit in the office for 2 hours past their appointment time, (It happens more than you know) but if the patient is 5 minutes late, the doctor will no longer see them. In my opinion, this is not honoring their oath to take care of their patients. Admit your faults, see the patient, have some compassion. For those of us who are disabled and have a life on top of 17 gazillion appointments a week, cut us some slack, dang. When I wrote this, I was wishing I had someone to come home to, someone to vent to, hell, even sexual release. I had had enough, and this was the last thing I could take after weeks of stuff adding up. Also, we're supposed to remain pleasant at all time. Heaven forbid a woman become emotional with her doctor and advocate for being just 6 minutes late, the doctor might write in their notes, (Also happens more than you know) about your suspected mental illness because you stood up for yourself. Just smile. If you don't smile, your entire life can be ruined.
