On April first, beware the prank

With silly tricks that no one can tank

A whoopee cushion under your seat

Just the start of a day that’s hard to beat!

A friend might say, “I bought a new car!”

But then you see it’s just a toy from afar

A rubber snake in the fridge might surprise

When you reach for a snack, oh, what a disguise!

But the funniest prank of them all

Is when someone claims, “I’m having a ball!”

But they can’t find their phone, their keys, or their shoe-

Turns out their best joke was losing a few!

So, laugh and be merry, but keep your eyes peeled

April Fool’s Day is a prankster’s big field

Just remember, it’s fun ‘til the day is all through

Then the best joke of all? It’s still just you!
