20th Birthday

In the quiet dawn of this special day

A mother’s heart in a bittersweet sway

Her son, now twenty, steps into new light

No longer a teenager, his future bright

The gift is wrapped with a mother’s care

Placed in his bin, a moment to share

Longing to celebrate, to see his grin

But for now, a poem her love pinned

Each year a tapestry, woven with thread

Moments of joy, of tears, of words unsaid

A journey together, through highs and lows

A garden of memories, where love grows

From first steps taken to dreams pursued

A mother’s love, steadfast and imbued

In every heartbeat, in every sigh

She watches him spread wings to fly

The years have flown, swift as the wind

Leaving echoes of the boy within

Yet now a man, his future untold

Wrapped in potential, in stories unfold

So, here’s a poem, a gift of verse

Tenderly crafted, a mother’s converse

Placed in his bin, a token of love

Guiding him onwards, to skies above

Today is my son's 20th birthday. Having a rough day. I just miss him so much.
